A grim scene unfolded at a local seafood restaurant on Philips Highway near Baymeadows Road last Saturday night, as 42-year-old Mark Gordon was arrested for the murder of 30-year-old Trevian Jackson. According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, reports of a shooting at the establishment came in around 9:30 p.m., but the initial sweep by officers failed to locate the victim. It wasn't until an hour later that news reached them of Jackson's arrival at the hospital with gunshot injuries, where he ultimately succumbed.
Investigations led by the JSO Homicide detectives, with the assistance of the Crime Scene Unit and the State Attorney’s Office, concluded that Gordon was the perpetrator. Despite the abrupt violence that shattered the night, the quick arrest of Gordon came by Monday, ensuring he was behind bars at the John E. Goode Pretrial Detention Facility soon after the incident.
