The National Weather Service has downgraded the Coastal Flood Warning in Duval County to a Coastal Flood Advisory, effective until 5 a.m. EDT Wednesday. The change reduces the threat level but maintains warnings for minor coastal flooding and dangerous rip currents. The previously issued High Surf Advisory has also been cancelled.
The National Weather Service advisory continues to highlight risks for residents and visitors in Coastal Duval. Minor flooding is possible during high tides, and rip currents remain a significant hazard to swimmers. These conditions may impact low-lying areas, parks, and coastal access points.
The National Weather Service advises caution for both drivers and beachgoers. Flooding may cause some road closures, and motorists should avoid driving through standing water. At the beaches, swimmers are urged to stay near lifeguards. Those caught in a rip current are advised to remain calm, float, and avoid swimming directly against the current. The forecast for Jacksonville also includes chances of showers, thunderstorms, and breezy conditions later in the week.
