Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) has announced the winners of its Fall 2025 Local Roadeo, celebrating the skills and dedication of its finest transit operators and maintenance technicians, with commendations posted on their social media platform. The Roadeo, a term that may evoke the rugged display of rodeos, here signifies a competition of a more civic variety, where participants prove their mettle in the arena of public transportation service.
Leading the pack in the Fixed Route Operators category was Ramon Farfan, taking home the gold, followed by Princess Johnson and Steve Pumarejo who claimed second and third places, respectively, and Sebastien Narcisse was lauded as the Rookie of the Year, a commendation pointing expertly to his nascent potential. In the Paratransit Operators division, Sammie Bailey championed the first-place spot and also snagged the Rookie of the Year title while LaDonna Perkins took the silver place, showcasing their expertise in shepherd driving and care for riders with special needs.
Clinching the first-place title among Maintenance Technician Teams were The Xpendables, comprised of George McGarry, Rudolph Wells, and Jarrod Morales, with The Rookies – Steven Nguyen, Alex Matos Morales, and Jerald Clark – not only snagging second place but also an acknowledgment as the Rookie of the Year team, and the Torq Titans, with Barry McCance, Bradley Jennings, and Eric Thomas at the helm, locked down third place in a fierce showdown of mechanical prowess.
The JTA post heralded the victors of the Fall 2025 Local Roadeo, "These talented technicians and operators went above and beyond, demonstrating precision, passion, and the true spirit of JTA excellence."
