In a straightforward revelation of systematic exploitation, a Jefferson City man faces charges for alleged sexual crimes against a minor. According to a social media post by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, Tennessee, 30-year-old Marcus Vann Atkins was apprehended on Monday, October 20, 2025, on the heels of an in-depth investigation sparked by a cyber tip.
Atkins, who is a paramedic with Jefferson County EMS and doubles as a volunteer softball coach with South Jefferson Little League, was slapped with three counts of Aggravated Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. The investigation, spanning four weeks, involved the Criminal Investigation Division, Internet Crimes Against Children, and the Jefferson City Police Department. They converged on Atkins' residence on McCowen Ave in Jefferson City, leading to his arrest. While being held in the Jefferson County Detention Center, they anticipate Atkins, awaiting bond, with no evidence found linking his victims to his job or as a coach.
A subsequent media release from Jefferson County EMS reflected on the charges.
