The Michigan Association of Circuit Court Administrators (MACCA) has bestowed upon Julie Bovenschen, the accolade of Court Administrator of the Year, as announced yesterday. Recognized for her distinctive leadership qualities and her efforts to secure alternative funding sources for the courts, Bovenschen's acknowledgment is a testament to her innovative and compassionate handling of complex judicial issues. The official statement from Macomb County highlighted her previous achievement of the Rising Star Award, which further underlined her proactive approach in the legal sphere.
Bovenschen's commitment to public service through her work in the court system of Macomb County has been longstanding. Serving as the Court Administrator for the 16th Judicial Circuit Court, Macomb County Probate Court, and the 42-1 and 42-2 District Courts since 2016, after her earlier tenure as Deputy Court Administrator since 2012. Her educational background, featuring a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University, and a Juris Doctor from Wayne State University, grounds her in both the theoretical and practical fields of law and administration.
Chief Judge Biernat was quoted in the news release, lauding Bovenschen for her dedication to the community. “The rest of the state has finally realized what I have known all along. Julie’s commitment to serving the population of Macomb County and the litigants who have business in the Courts is exemplified by her strong leadership every day,” he stated.
