A blaze erupted at a residence within the Mallard Creek subdivision in Kissimmee, leading the Kissimmee Fire Department to spring into action yesterday afternoon. As reported by ClickOrlando, the fire alarm was sounded around 2:04 p.m., with flames discovered spreading from the garage to an adjacent vehicle and then to the home's second floor.
Battalion Chief Ryan Appleman was quoted as saying, "Our crews acted quickly to contain the fire and prevent further damage to items in the home and surrounding area." The residents had evacuated the home before the fire department's arrival, and fortunately, no injuries were reported. Assisting in the efforts, Osceola County's fire crew arrived alongside the Kissimmee Police Department, which handled the traffic disruptions during the blaze. The swift response led to the fire being extinguished, as detailed in a response reported by FOX 35 Orlando.
While the fire is currently under control, the exact origins and cause of the inferno remain unclear. The State Fire Marshal's office has been summoned to lead an investigation into the incident.
