The National Weather Service in Morristown has provided a detailed forecast for the Knoxville area, indicating a week rife with showers and slightly cooler temperatures; starting today, Knoxville can expect cloudy skies with highs creeping up near 65 and winds picking up a northeast zest in the afternoon.
Tonight's outlook has a 60% chance of showers, mainly post 10 pm, with an anticipated low around 50°F and those northeast breezes maintaining a gentle pace; new precipitation may total less than a tenth of an inch, offering a damp rather than drenching scenario, yet the onset of consistent showers heralds a wetter pattern stretching into the week, according to the NWS forecast.
Monday is prepping for a more assertive bout of rainfall, with a 90% chance of showers and high temperatures edging around 56°F, while precipitation could amount to between half and three-quarters of an inch, the wet conditions persisting through the night, with a robust 70% likelihood of precipitation exists and lows hovering near 50°F.
Going into Tuesday and through to Wednesday, Knoxville won't see much relief from the dampness, showers persisting with probabilities ranging from a mild 30 percent to a more decisive 80 percent, per the National Weather Service. As the region remains enshrouded in clouds and sporadic precipitation, the temperatures will plateau around the mid-50s to low 60s.
Looking toward the latter part of the week, there's a steady chance of continued showers with Thursday having a 60 percent chance, tapering off to a 40 percent likelihood by nightfall, and by Friday, the sun might break through the clouds, albeit with a lingering 20 percent chance of showers during the day.
