In a straightforward operation on Friday night, Knoxville Police Department's Community Engagement Response Team (CERT) apprehended Nari Watson, a 20-year-old man facing federal weapon and drug charges. The arrest was made as Watson departed a residence on Pickett Avenue. Accompanying Watson was 29-year-old Madaisia Duncan, who was wanted for multiple felony organized retail theft warrants from Bradley County, Tennessee, along with two additional outstanding warrants from Sevier County.
The Knoxville Police Department reported the successful apprehension via a social media post, commending the CERT officers for their work. According to the post, the operation to securely take Watson into custody was carried out efficiently by the responsive team. The two individuals were then transported to the Knox County Detention Facility.
Watson's charges at the federal level mark a severe point in a series of legal issues for the young man. Meanwhile, Duncan's record, with warrants for felony retail theft, illustrates a pattern of alleged criminal retail behavior spanning multiple jurisdictions.
While the Knoxville Police Department's update did not provide further details on the circumstances leading up to the arrests, their message was clear: their officers were committed to rapidly bringing individuals facing serious charges into the legal system. The police department's engagement team continues to actively pursue those wanted on significant criminal charges, aiming to uphold law and order within the community.
