For those struggling in the hustling grind of joblessness, Larimer County has extended an olive branch, offering a direct line to speak with a live Unemployment Insurance (UI) agent. In a recent release published by Larimer County, it was confirmed that individuals can call into the local office, bypass the frustration of automated systems, and be placed into a phone queue. "Call us, and we’ll get you into the phone queue to speak directly with a UI agent, not a bot!" the announcement read.

Patience may still be a necessary virtue for callers, as hold times can fluctuate with the call volume during peak times. A short call list system has been implemented. "If our office is handling a high number of requests, we may place you on a short call list. Don’t worry, we’ll call you back and connect you to UI as soon as possible," states the Larimer County. The UI phone queue is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., excluding holidays, keeping in consideration the structured schedules of those in need.

The county is acting as a guidepost for residents to the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE), which administers the unemployment benefits at the state level. While the Larimer County Economic and Workforce Development (LCEWD) does not have access to personal UI accounts, the department provides explanations of the process for filing UI claims and answers general UI questions, acting as a compass to navigate state-administered assistance.
