The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is currently investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early this morning just west of North Las Vegas Airport. According to reports by News 3 LV, officers were summoned after receiving a 911 call around 3:45 a.m. about an individual who seemed to be injured and was found in an alley on the 5300 block of Cheyenne Avenue, near Rancho Drive.
A man believed to be in his 40s was located at the scene with gunshot wounds. Despite the emergency medical effort, he was pronounced dead at the scene, Lt. Robert Price, with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police detailed in an email. An argument, that took place between two individuals around 2 a.m., is said to have precipitated the shooting.
Homicide detectives have not yet made any arrests in connection with the shooting, as the search for the suspect continues. The relationship between the two parties involved in the dispute, and the specific cause of the altercation, has not been disclosed to the public. Police have not released a description of the suspect but are treating the shooting as an isolated incident, as referenced in a statement obtained by FOX5 Las Vegas.
