
The National Weather Service in Memphis has issued the latest forecast for the region, laying out a predictably dreary portrait of overcast skies and intermittent precipitation heading into the week. Residents can expect a drizzle and foggy conditions on Monday morning with a meager 20 percent chance of showers before 8 am; otherwise, mostly cloudy skies will prevail, with a high creeping up to around 63 degrees as the day progresses and a soft east wind stirring at 5 mph.
Monday night will be mostly cloudy with temperatures dipping to around 56°F and light winds becoming calm later in the evening. Rain chances remain low through the night. On Tuesday, conditions change. The National Weather Service reports a 50% chance of showers and possible thunderstorms after 4 p.m. Rain and storms are likely to continue into Tuesday night as temperatures fall to about 48°F, with winds increasing from the southeast up to 15 mph before shifting west after midnight.
Rain is likely on Wednesday with a high near 54°F and gusty winds up to 25 mph. About a tenth to a quarter of an inch of rain is expected, with a 70% chance of showers. Showers may continue into Wednesday night with a 40% chance of rain. Conditions will improve by Thursday, bringing mostly sunny skies and a warmer high of around 59°F.
Thursday night will be mostly clear with lows near 42°F. Sunshine returns Friday, bringing a pleasant high of about 62°F. Friday night will be partly cloudy. The weekend stays mild: Saturday will be mostly sunny with highs around 62°F, though there’s a small 20% chance of showers Saturday night. Sunday looks sunny again with highs near 65°F.
