Tonight, the clear skies will prevail with the temperature dropping to around 50, while the southwesterly breeze slows to a more gentle 5 to 10 mph. Moving into the weekend, Saturday's weather looks to be partly sunny with a high near 64 degrees, though the winds are set to change direction and increase slightly, possibly up to gusts as high as 30 mph later in the day.
The forecast for Saturday night indicates a 30 percent chance of showers before 1am, following which the clouds should disperse, leaving mostly clear skies and a low around 43. The northwest wind will continue at a pace of 10 to 15 mph. Come Sunday, Minneapolis is in for a full day of sunshine and a high near 60, accompanied by a steady west-northwest wind.
Looking ahead to Sunday night, the city's residents should expect increasing clouds, with a low around 47, and the wind shifting from west southwest to south southeast after midnight. Monday's weather may bring a slight chance of showers later in the afternoon, but parts of the day should remain partly sunny with the winds picking up to 15 mph from the south southeast before swinging west. Gusts could, once again, hit speeds of up to 30 mph.
As for Monday night through Thursday, the city will witness a cooling trend with partly cloudy nights and mostly sunny days. Temperatures on Tuesday could drop to a high near 53, and even further down to a low around 36 at night. West northwest winds will bring gusts as high as 30 mph. The week progresses steadily with a slight warm-up, Wednesday showing a high near 55 and a calm south wind, and Thursday topping off at 56 under the watch of a west northwest wind.
