Rosie Schulte has been named the State of Missouri and Missouri Department of Natural Resources (MoDNR) Team Member of this month. Schulte, a fiscal and administrative manager with MoDNR’s Missouri Geological Survey, was recognized for her work in coordinating the fiscal and accounting operations of the department’s Land Reclamation Program. According to a recent news release, her responsibilities include managing federal grants exceeding $8 million and overseeing key operational equipment such as vehicles and computer systems.

With 34 years of service at MoDNR, Schulte has taken on responsibilities beyond her core duties. She helped manage staffing shortages in the Land Reclamation Program by reallocating tasks among remaining staff. She also contributed to creating a process for more accurate accounting and inventory of land reclamation bonds, addressing previous gaps in the system.

Schulte's leadership and positive approach have been recognized by both her peers and supervisors. Guy Frazier, director of the Land Reclamation Program and the person who nominated her for the award, "Rosie has a can-do attitude and the willingness to go the extra distance no matter how tough it may be. She never shirks a task of any kind and always steps up to help others." Frazier added, "Without a doubt, the program is certainly blessed to have her," these statements, provided by the MoDNR, reflect the recognition of Schulte's contributions.

The award shows that Schulte follows the department’s important values like teamwork, honesty, and respect. She started working at the Missouri Department of Natural Resources in November 1991 and has used her skills to help the department. She lives in Eugene and continues to work there as the department changes.
