A tragic incident occurred last night when a motorcyclist lost his life on Jacksonville's Southside. The accident, which took place at the intersection of Town Center Parkway and Tropea Way, happened at approximately 10:20 p.m., as noted in a report by the Jacksonville police. According to Action News Jax, the victim, a young man in his early 20’s, was operating a westbound Honda motorcycle down Town Center Parkway when the collision occurred.
An Audi, driven by a woman also in her early 20s, was traveling eastbound and attempted a left turn onto Tropea Way, which ultimately led to the motorcycle striking the front passenger side of the vehicle. First Coast News reported that the motorcyclist was thrown from his bike due to the impact.
Following the collision, response teams from the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department rushed the motorcyclist to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The driver of the Audi remained at the scene and is cooperating with detectives conducting the subsequent traffic crash investigation.
