Temperatures are expected to drop to around 33 degrees early Thursday morning, which may cause frost and damage to sensitive outdoor vegetation. Residents are advised to cover or bring in plants to prevent potential harm, as per the National Weather Service.
Affected areas include Oklahoma City, Shawnee, Moore, Ada, and nearby regions. The advisory is in effect from 1 a.m. to 8 a.m. CDT Thursday. Conditions will be calm with light west-northwest winds before temperatures rise to around 61 degrees under sunny skies later in the day.
For Oklahoma City, the National Weather Service forecast shows mostly clear skies tonight with a low near 41 degrees and calm winds. Friday will bring increasing clouds and a high near 65 degrees, with light southerly winds developing in the afternoon.
The weekend forecast includes mostly sunny conditions on Saturday with a high near 59 degrees and light winds turning east overnight. Saturday night will be clear with a low around 38 degrees. The following days are expected to remain mostly sunny, with temperatures gradually warming to around 74 degrees by Wednesday.
