
The Tulsa Police Department recently celebrated the graduation of its 131st Police Academy class, with 16 Apprentice Police Officers completing over six months of training. According to the Tulsa Police Department website, the graduates are now designated as Officers in Training (OITs) and will begin a 16-week field training phase, part of an 11-month program before serving independently.
The ceremony was attended by Mayor Monroe Nichols, Public Safety Commissioner Laurel Roberts, and Police Chief Dennis Larsen, who addressed the graduates and congratulated them on their achievement.
The Tulsa Police Department also announced that recruitment remains open for those interested in joining the force. Authorities extended congratulations to the new officers as they begin their field assignments and continue their training to serve the Tulsa community.
