Drivers in the Oklahoma City area should prepare for ongoing traffic impacts as major roadwork continues. Eastbound SH-9W will be reduced to a single lane through this month, with multiple overnight lane and ramp closures scheduled to last through November. The work zone is expected to remain active into early 2026, requiring extended caution from motorists. Meanwhile, I-35 at Covell Road in Edmond will experience lane reductions today for surface repairs, which may also affect traffic flow.

Construction continues on other key routes as well. The SH-9W interchange near Goldsby is reduced to one lane in each direction at I-35. Drivers heading south on I-35 from westbound SH-9W will need to take a detour via Harvey Road. Northbound traffic on US-77 will encounter occasional lane closures through November for resurfacing work. Similarly, both eastbound and westbound SH-9E near US-77 in Norman will have lane closures until fall due to a bridge replacement project.

Additionally, I-40 will experience lane reductions at the I-44 junction every night through the fall. In Midwest City, both eastbound and westbound I-40 are limited to two lanes in each direction, with lane shifts and occasional ramp closures continuing through this year. Alternative routes such as I-240 and US-62/N. 23rd St. are available detours, though they also face scheduled lane reductions and closures.

Other significant projects include roundabout construction at the SH-66/US-81 intersection in El Reno, which will cause lane narrowing through next year, and closures on SH-37/S.E. 4th St. in Moore lasting until summer 2026. Garth Brooks Blvd. at I-40 in Yukon is narrowed for resurfacing work through summer 2026, while US-270 near Calumet will have reduced lanes for surface repairs until summer.
