Attorney General Dan Rayfield of Oregon has announced a series of town hall meetings dubbed the "Oregon Priorities Tour," aimed at fostering a conversational bridge between the state government and its constituents. Set to launch in November, the tour is the latest attempt to directly engage with the people of Oregon on pressing local issues such as public safety, consumer protection, and the defense of state values.

In a recent announcement, Rayfield expressed the urgency of connecting with Oregonians "in every corner of the state." He emphasized the state's role in compensating where the federal government has retreated or actively sought to undermine regulatory bodies. "That's our goal with the Oregon Priorities Tour – especially as the federal government steps back or tries to dismantle the very agencies meant to protect people," Rayfield said, according to a news release posted on the Oregon Department of Justice website. The town halls will allow community members to voice their concerns, which will shape the legal strategies to safeguard Oregon's interest.

The initial stops of the tour include a Corvallis town hall scheduled for November 12 at 6 pm, featuring Senator Sara Gelser Blouin and Representative Sarah Finger McDonald at the Linn-Benton Community College, Corvallis Campus, Benton Center. Interested parties can RSVP through a link provided by Oregon DOJ. A later town hall is planned in Lake Oswego for December 17, with Senate President Rob Wagner, though the location remains unannounced, reservations are already open.

More events are expected during the winter and spring, with further dates and venues forthcoming. More information and updates on these meetings can be found by visiting the Oregon DOJ website.
