In the forecast for today, Philadelphians can expect a slight chance of showers between 10am and 11am. After the possible brief rain, the clouds are predicted to part, making way for mostly sunny skies and a high of around 64 degrees. Meteorologists warn of strong gusts, which could reach as high as 30 mph. "Chance of precipitation is 20%," notes the NWS update. Tonight's outlook is clear with a low around 46 degrees and a milder west wind moving at 5 to 10 mph.
Looking ahead to Tuesday, the city should experience sunny weather, with a comfortable high near 70 degrees and a south wind picking up to 15 mph. However, Tuesday night will bring a higher likelihood of showers, mainly before 2 am, accompanied by mostly cloudy conditions and a low hovering around 51 degrees. The chance of precipitation jumps to 70%, though any new rainfall is expected to amount to less than a tenth of an inch.
The NWS forecast suggests a continuation of this seesaw pattern through the week, with Wednesday having a chance of showers before 8am but then turning mostly sunny, with a high again near 64 degrees. "Winds could gust as high as 30 mph," the NWS cautions. The remainder of the week is looking decidedly more consistent—mostly clear nights alternating with mostly sunny days, with temperatures gradually dropping to highs in the low 60s and lows in the low to mid-40s.
