Pierce County Elections will conduct its pre-election Logic and Accuracy Test on Tuesday to ensure that votes in the upcoming November 4 general election are counted correctly. The public is invited to observe the audit at the Pierce County Elections Center in Tacoma.
According to Pierce County’s official announcement, election staff will use a test deck that mirrors the actual ballot. After processing the ballots through tabulation equipment, results will be compared to confirm that expected and actual vote counts match. The test will begin at 8:30 a.m., while an additional audit of the County’s Accessible Voting Unit will take place earlier at 7:45 a.m., also open to the public.
Voting begins on Friday, with ballots scheduled to be mailed the same day and expected to arrive by Tuesday next week. Residents can register or update their information in person or by phone at 253-798-VOTE or by visiting the Elections Center. Resources such as the Election At-a-Glance flyer, voters’ pamphlet, and other election information are available on the Pierce County website and social media platforms.
The county’s testing process is designed to confirm that voting systems operate accurately and that all votes are counted as cast.
