As Halloween approaches, the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office is urging residents to prioritize safety during trick-or-treating. With children expected to fill neighborhood streets in costume, Lieutenant Moss and Deputy Cappetto advised motorists to "Drive slow in residential areas and be alert!" They also recommended that children wear reflective gear to increase visibility while walking from house to house, aiming to help ensure a safe evening for families across the county, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office.
Parents are being urged to closely supervise their children during Halloween, while older children are advised to share their routes with caregivers, stick to familiar trails, and follow agreed-upon curfews. Officials reminded residents to "Stay in groups and don’t get separated" and warned that treats "suspiciously covered in werewolf drool should be… avoided," as reported by the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office.
The department also acknowledged Spooner Farms for hosting festive activities in the community. Deputy Cappetto and Lieutenant Moss emphasized the importance of safety, saying everyone should "make this Halloween fun, frightful, and safe for all creatures of the night," as stated by the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office.
