A community event in Plymouth focused on domestic violence awareness will take place on October 28 at the Plymouth Community Center, located at 14800 34th Ave. N. The initiative, organized by the Plymouth Public Safety Department, is part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month and aims to connect residents with local resources and education opportunities.
According to the Plymouth city website, the event, titled Resilient Community Voices, will begin at 6 p.m. with a resource fair introducing attendees to local services, including shelters, advocacy groups, healthcare providers, legal aid, and law enforcement agencies. The fair will feature an interactive “Voices Wall,” where participants can leave written notes recognizing survivors and showing community support.
At 7 p.m., a panel discussion will bring together community experts to discuss prevention, intervention, and the systemic challenges surrounding domestic violence. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A session following the discussion.
The evening will conclude with a 20-minute restorative yoga session, focused on promoting safety, resilience, and well-being. This final activity underscores the event’s emphasis on recovery and community connection.
The program is free and open to the public, and no registration is required. It provides an opportunity for residents to learn about available support services and participate in meaningful community engagement around a critical social issue.
