Raleigh Little Theatre is offering a series of acting classes for young performers at the Laurel Hills Community Center. The courses are designed for different age groups and skill levels, aiming to develop creativity and confidence in participants.
Starting November 4, "Taking Center Stage" will welcome children aged 7 to 10 to participate in theatre games, character work, and improv. The cost for residents is $135 for the session. For younger children, "Story Drama Together: Kindness Counts" offers an introduction to performing arts through drama activities centered on kindness, priced at $100 for local participants. Both classes aim to support personal development and audience engagement as part of theatrical education, according to the City of Raleigh.
Beginning next year, Raleigh Little Theatre will offer two programs: "Curtains Up!" starting January 20, designed to prepare children for performing on stage, and "Act It Out!" starting March 17, which provides an introduction to the fundamentals of acting. As per the city's announcement, both sessions focus on developing imagination and stage presence.
For younger children, "Story Drama Together: Little Dreamers" and "Rhythms and Tales" offer engaging and creative classes for ages 2 to 4. These sessions use storytelling combined with movement and rhythm to encourage early expression. The classes focus not only on drama skills but also on developing communication and cooperation abilities from an early age, as reported by the City of Raleigh.
Those interested in registering their children for these programs or seeking more information can visit the official registration and details page on Raleigh Parks and Recreation’s website.
