The California Highway Patrol recently apprehended two individuals from the East Bay after a series of social media posts showcased their perilous antics on public roads. According to a report by NBC Bay Area, the two men posted videos of themselves driving recklessly across the Bay Area, engaging in activities like "swimming" and "squeezing" through traffic at high speeds.

The CHP's investigation began on April 5 of this year, when the street racers' display of defiance toward safety was first noticed. Investigators were able to locate and identify a white Lexus sedan and a white BMW sedan that appeared in multiple incidents. Last Tuesday, after a thorough inquiry and surveillance, warrants led to the arrests of 26-year-old Jacob Colombo of Danville and 20-year-old Bryan Aparicio Garcia of San Lorenzo. The crackdown also resulted in the confiscation of the vehicles above, as well as an illegal firearm.

The authorities have identified a third accomplice and are awaiting charges. Emphasizing the severity of the situation, CHP Golden Gate Division Chief Don Goodbrand was quoted in a social media post from CHP Golden Gate Division, saying, “The California Highway Patrol is committed to holding those who organize, participate in, and promote this type of behavior responsible for the dangers they place the motoring public in,” said CHP Golden Gate Division Chief Don Goodbrand. “We will continue to aggressively pursue those who endanger our communities with their reckless and careless behavior, and ensure they answer for their crimes.”
