The search for Alejandro Reyes Cisneros, the West Sacramento man who was reported missing over a year ago, has come to a tragic end. Skeletal remains discovered along the Sacramento River have been formally identified as those of Cisneros, confirming fears about his fate. According to details from ABC10, the Sacramento County Coroner's Office determined that he died due to a gunshot wound to the head, and his death has been ruled a homicide.
After leaving his residence, Cisneros was last seen on the early hours of June 26, 2024, getting into a newer model black pickup truck with individuals unknown, as reported by FOX40. His remains were found by Reclamation District employees near the 12000 block of River Road, a discovery that now shifts the West Sacramento Police Department's efforts from a missing person search to an active homicide investigation.
Employing information from KCRA, we know that Cisneros, 39 at the time of his disappearance, was reported as at-risk partly due to his requirement for medication which he was without since going missing.
"Detectives are actively investigating this case," West Sacramento Police Department spokesman Officer Hector Torres stated, as obtained by ABC10. He added, “At this time, no additional information is available for release. Updates will be provided as the investigation develops." As for now, the authorities have not arrested anyone related to this crime, and no suspect information has been released to the public.
Remembered by nicknames such as "Little Al" and "Butch," Cisneros was also identifiable by an unknown tattoo on his neck. The ongoing investigation urges anyone with information to come forward, as law enforcement works to piece together the events that led to this tragic conclusion of Alejandro Reyes Cisneros' disappearance.
