Residents and commuters in Sammamish are advised to plan ahead as a series of roadworks are underway, leading to road closures, detours, and minor delays. According to a recent update from the City of Sammamish, East Lake Sammamish Parkway (ELSP) will experience two shoulder closures and a shifting taper in both directions on October 29 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, as crews work on repairing the roadway.

As per the City's notice, traffic impacts are expected near the 800-1600 lineal feet south of the ELSP and Inglewood Hill Road intersection, where a truck will also be parked on the shoulder. The aim is to accurately inspect and monitor three culvert crossings in the area. Additionally, there will be a change in detour limits on Louis Thompson Road starting October 30 in order to safely construct walls 7 and 8 along the uphill lanes.

A project page provides ongoing updates for residents travelling up as far as 208th Avenue NE, who will now be able to drive downhill during this modified detour through November 21. Meanwhile, Northwest Sammamish Water & Sewer will be installing a new water main at NE 36th & NE 37th off Sahalee Way until December 2025, alerting citizens to traffic control measures and potential minor delays.

Furthermore, PSE teams are replacing gas mains from October 6 to December 31, with activities on weekdays from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, and some work also occurring on Saturdays. Work locations include stretches along 224th Pl NE and NE 14th Drive, where asphalt patches will be followed by grid and overlay. Finally, Comcast overhead work is to take place from October 16-29 between 9:30 am and 3:30 pm, stretching from 1605 E Lake Sammamish Pkwy to SE 8th St, as traffic control will be undertaken to manage the flow of vehicles.

The City of Sammamish regularly updates its website with traffic advisories, giving commuters a resource to help in planning their travels around the construction works and detours.
