In compliance with a search warrant, the Santa Rosa Police Department apprehended a suspected local fentanyl trafficker, reported to be distributing large quantities of the drug within the city and its environs. As detailed in a social media post by the Santa Rosa Police Department, 32-year-old Coolidge Sledge, a Santa Rosa resident, was detained yesterday in the 1500 block of Sendero Lane, Santa Rosa.
The Santa Rosa Police Department's Narcotics Team began closely monitoring Sledge in September 2025, leading to the operation. They executed the search warrant at around 10:30 AM, a maneuver that culminated in the seizure of what is suspected to be 5,500 counterfeit 30mg Oxycodone pills, substituted with fentanyl, and a quantity of cocaine. Authorities estimate the street value of the seized fentanyl pills to be approximately $50,000.
Highlighting the dangerous potential of the seized contraband, the Santa Rosa Police pointed out that just two milligrams of fentanyl can be lethal. Each of the confiscated pills represents at the very least one such lethal dose, raising concerns over the potential health crisis that could unfold should such substances be distributed unchecked in the community.
Following the seizure, Sledge was incarcerated and now faces charges for possession of a narcotic for sale under the Health and Safety code 11351 H&S. A bail enhancement was secured, setting Sledge’s bail at an imposing $300,000.
