
The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office has partnered with the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office as part of the Louisiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force to strengthen local efforts against online exploitation of children. Sheriff James Pohlmann said, "Partnerships like this play a vital role in keeping our children safe," as stated by the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office.
The partnership is intended to improve investigations and preventive measures against online predators. Sheriff Pohlmann noted that the collaboration with the Attorney General’s Office will support deputies in protecting the parish’s children, as reported by the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office.
Col. Chad Clark, commander of the SBSO's Criminal Investigations Division, is leading local efforts to identify and stop people who exploit children online. According to the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office on their Facebook page, he said, "Partnering with the Attorney General’s Office allows us to combine resources and expertise so we can more effectively pursue those who target children online." The collaboration includes Chris Masters, Louisiana Bureau of Investigation Supervisory Special Agent with the Cyber Crime Unit, working together to protect children in St. Bernard Parish.
