The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office recently held several community outreach events aimed at building stronger connections with local youth. The annual Fall Festival, hosted at the Sheriff’s Office Training Center gym, saw a 40% increase in attendance compared to previous years. Families and children participated in activities such as face painting, music, dancing, and games, while also exploring utility vehicles and enjoying food provided by Chet Oubre. According to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office's Facebook post, local organizations including the CARE Center, St. Charles Parish Library, and the Youth Empowerment Project supported the event.
The outreach extended to local schools, with deputies visiting Norco Elementary to introduce students to K-9 officers Daisy and Charlie. The visit allowed students to learn about the dogs’ training and their roles in public safety.
At St. Rose Elementary, deputies conducted K-9 demonstrations and gave students from grades 3 to 5 a closer look at a traffic unit and the Marine Division’s operations. Students were also introduced to the SWAT team’s responsibilities and toured the SWAT Bearcat vehicle.
