The St. Louis County Police Department opened a new childcare and early education center for its officers and staff on Thursday. The project was developed in partnership with the National Law Enforcement Foundation, the St. Louis Police Foundation, KinderCare, and the St. Louis County Fraternal Order of Police to provide childcare options that match officers’ work schedules, according to the St. Louis County Police Department.
“This center represents more than just childcare,” said Police Chief Kenneth Gregory. “It’s a commitment to our officers, our staff, and their families that ensures those who dedicate their lives to protecting our community can do so knowing their own children are safe and supported.” Jim Mackay, CEO of the National Law Enforcement Foundation, said, “We are honored to stand alongside the men and women of the St. Louis County Police Department and to be their trusted partner in building solutions that truly support law enforcement families,” as reported by the St. Louis County Police Department.
Dan Figurski, President of KinderCare for Employers and Champions, said, "We’re honored to partner with the St. Louis County Police Department to support the families of those who serve each day," and "This new center demonstrates our dedication to providing high-quality early childhood education tailored to the unique needs of employers’ families, so they can focus on their work while knowing their own children are in safe, trusted care." The event was held at the Affton Southwest Precinct, with law enforcement personnel, their families, and project partners attending to hear from officers using the new child care center and those involved in its development, as stated by the St. Louis County Police Department.
