A major Las Vegas Strip casino operator has extended locals’ discounts and perks through the Christmas season, keeping free parking, dining and attraction deals available to Nevada residents into December. The move is the latest in a wave of resident-focused promotions as Strip resorts push to bring more locals back to midweek rooms, restaurants and pools.
Per Las Vegas Review-Journal, the extended program keeps complimentary self-parking and a package of food, spa and attraction discounts in place for Nevada residents through the holiday period. Properties implementing the offers say guests will generally need to show a valid Nevada ID and, in some cases, present a rewards account to redeem the savings, and individual outlets or shows may be excluded under property terms.
How Caesars And Others Opened The Door
Earlier this fall, Caesars launched a locals campaign that included free self-parking at several Strip resorts Sunday through Thursday and a 25% discount on food and beverage at participating venues, as reported by FOX5 Las Vegas. The chain also promoted a limited-time staycation rate for Nevada residents and additional spa and attraction savings tied to a valid state ID.
Other Properties Joining In
Several other Strip properties have rolled out similar resident-focused deals: The Cosmopolitan has been promoting Monday offers that include free parking and discounts on rooms and F&B, while newer entrants have launched their own "locals only" packages and waived certain fees to entice in-town patrons. Las Vegas Review-Journal coverage of those programs notes the offers vary by property and day of week.
Why Casinos Are Turning To Locals
Operators say the promotions are intended to bolster midweek visitation and F&B business after a softer stretch of tourism this year; local outlets reported a measurable dip in visitors through midyear that helped spur the push for resident deals. KKLZ and other outlets point to those traffic trends as a primary reason for the ramp-up in locals-focused marketing.
How To Claim The Offers
Most promotions require a valid Nevada ID at point of purchase or check-in and may ask that you be a rewards-member to receive discounted room rates or attraction tickets, FOX5 Las Vegas reported. If you plan a trip to the Strip, call ahead or check the resort’s official deals page for participating restaurants, blackout dates and any exclusions so you don’t get surprised at the door.
