After a recent shooting incident in Silview, Wilmington, a suspect has been taken into custody and multiple stolen firearms recovered. The New Castle County Police reported on social media that on the night of October 11, 2025, patrol officers responded to a call at Westmont Avenue, where a 16-year-old girl, visiting friends, had been injured by gunfire. She was transported to a nearby hospital and treated for a non-life-threatening injury to the abdomen.
Identified at the scene, 19-year-old Jaiden Jester was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including two degrees of assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, after being taken into custody without incident at the residence, and later transported to New Castle County Police Headquarters. Found in Jester's possession, a shotgun and two .22-caliber rifles, reported stolen from a residence weeks earlier, were confiscated along with various ammunition types after a search warrant was executed.
The investigation uncovered that the teenage victim was hit by a canister-type round discharged from a .22-caliber rifle. In connection with a separate incident that took place on October 1, 2025, detectives learned of a second victim, a 15-year-old male, who also got shot by Jester, albeit with a blank round, which nevertheless resulted in injury. These findings indicate the case against Jester extended beyond the theft and encompassed two separate shooting incidents.
Currently held at the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution, Jester's bail is set at $69,500 cash. While no additional charges have yet been presented, the police stated that both shootings and the firearm theft are still under active investigation, suggesting that the legal troubles Jester may yet face could grow.
