The Tampa Police Department has found a star within its ranks, choosing to shine a spotlight on Ashley Newsom as October 2025's Employee of the Month. Recognition came via a social media announcement from the Tampa Police Department, detailing Newsom's accomplishments and contributions since she joined the Training Unit earlier in March.
According to the Tampa Police Department, Newsom's brief tenure has been marked by significant improvements within the department. The dedicated employee not only streamlined their processes but also ensured that more than 260 officers stayed sharp and well-credentialed. Furthermore, her efforts supported departmental accreditation, and, she coordinated the strategic deployment of nearly 300 AEDs (automated external defibrillators).
"Her teamwork and commitment make her an invaluable part of the Tampa Police Department," the post from the Tampa Police Department reads. Newsom's accolade is shared as the department aims to highlight the behind-the-scenes work that bolsters the efficiency and preparedness of law enforcement on the streets.
