Community support takes center stage at Texas Live! gears up to host its third annual Community Resource Fair, dedicated to aiding families navigating hardship. The event is set for Nov. 5, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Arlington Backyard, as per the City of Arlington.
An array of services spanning from educational assistance to mental health and job support awaits attendees. These resources, once an internal tool for Texas Live! staff under the purview of TaShunda Scott, back at her tenure with the Workforce Solutions of Tarrant County, have burgeoned into a beacon of communal assistance. "I helped around 250 staff find resources for childcare, transportation, housing. While we initially wanted to bring these resources to our staff, we realized we could also bring them to the community," Scott recounted, per the City of Arlington.
Scott, now a community manager at Spark Coworking, spotlights the fair's wonderfully unique timing, which is a cushion between the seasonal back-to-school and festive end-of-year giveaways, thereby extending a critical lifeline to those in-between needing support. Last year's assembly drew substantial numbers, with the upcoming event targeting a significant leap to 250 families, a goal set by those drumming up resources and readiness.
