According to a CBS News Los Angeles report, the initial call led detectives to a victim on May 27, who was pronounced dead on arrival. Subsequent investigation pointed to three suspects, with two arrested in early October and one in September. The three, now facing serious criminal charges, were brought into custody after meticulous surveillance and follow-up probes by the Southern Division Special Services of the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Latalia Morrellangi, 23, was the first of the suspects apprehended on September 9, as announced by law enforcement officials. Held on a $2,050,000 bail at the Century Regional Detention Facility, Morrellangi faces murder charges. The other two, Kametreus Boyce, 26, and Madison Maas, 24, were taken into custody on October 2. Boyce, having breached parole conditions prior, was denied bail for that violation, and an additional $3,050,000 was set for the murder charge. He remains at the Men's Central Jail.
Mentioned on CHP Southern Div Special Svcs Instagram post, Maas, found with pending arrest warrants worth $160,000, was detained and is currently at the Century Regional Detention Facility. In a twist of the investigation, evaluating the role of each suspect in the crime, detectives thanked the Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force for their assistance, which proved indispensable in tracking the suspects down, making the unraveling of this tragic event possible.
