A forgery operation was unraveled at a Woodforest Bank inside a Walmart on Northwest Freeway. Deputies responded to a forgery in progress on September 25, 2025, as confirmed by Constable Mark Herman’s Office. A woman had deposited a forged check worth $15,148.00 into her account, prompting an investigation that revealed a deeper scheme involving three individuals. According to a Facebook post by the constable's office, Justin Emery, Kaitlyn Broussard, and Jaylon Waddy are the suspects charged with forging a financial instrument in connection with this scam.
Deputy Newisar’s persistent pursuit provided the breakthrough needed to uncover the details of the fraud. As investigators examined the incident, it became clear the suspects were part of a systematic scheme to swindle, though the precise motive and scope of the operation remain under scrutiny. All three alleged accomplices are facing charges, and as of the report, the 488th District Court had not yet set their bonds. "These types of crimes impact local businesses and our residents directly," Constable Herman stated, as reported on the Precinct 4 Facebook page.
The constable's office remains committed to holding accountable anyone who threatens the community’s financial safety. Herman’s statement reflects the department’s dedication to service and protection. The search for the suspected forgers continues, and authorities urge anyone with information to come forward.
