Residents and commuters in the Tulsa area should expect road closures and lane reductions due to ongoing infrastructure projects by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.

As per the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, immediate restrictions include the narrowing of southbound I-35 at N.E. 27th St. in Moore for maintenance, the closure of the northbound I-35 on-ramp from S.E. 89th St., and a reduction to one lane on I-35 between N.E. 27th St. and S.E. 89th St. starting tonight.

Ongoing lane reductions include I-240, which will remain constricted through 2025, and northbound I-35 at Indian Hills Rd. in Norman, narrowed to one lane for surface testing nightly through October. Tecumseh Rd. in Norman will be reduced to one lane between Flood Ave. and N.E. 12th St. through Friday. Intermittent lane closures on US-77 between Classen Blvd. and Main St. will continue nightly through early November.

Multi-year projects affecting major roads include resurfacing and bridge work on I-35 and ramps between Memorial Rd. and US-77/2nd St. in Edmond, expected to narrow lanes through summer 2025. The I-35 and SH-9W interchange is being converted into a Diverging Diamond Interchange, with widening of I-35 between SH-9W and SH-74/Main St. in Goldsby and two roundabouts added along SH-9W service roads, expected to continue through early 2026.

Additional projects include the resurfacing of Garth Brooks Blvd. at I-40 in Yukon, reducing it to one lane through summer 2026, the closure of SH-152 between Banner Rd. and Cemetery Rd. through 2025, and a reduction of US-270 near Calumet to one lane for surface work through summer 2025.

Full project details and traffic impacts are available on the Oklahoma Department of Transportation website. Drivers are advised to plan alternate routes and allow extra travel time.
