Ongoing highway construction projects in Tulsa, particularly at the I-44 and US-75 interchange, are expected to affect traffic patterns until 2028, with major closures and detours in place. Notable disruptions include ramp closures, such as the southbound US-75 ramp to westbound I-44, along with local street impacts like Skelly Dr. and 51st St., with temporary traffic signals on 46th St. at US-75, according to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.
In Catoosa, the I-44 and SH-66 interchange improvement project is slated for completion by 2026, with the westbound I-44 off-ramp to northbound SH-66 currently closed. Despite lane narrowing, two lanes of traffic will be maintained in both directions during peak travel times to minimize congestion, as reported by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.
Construction projects include bridge work on US-75 between 56th St. N. and 66th St. N., lasting until summer 2026, with one lane open in each direction. SH-97 pavement work in Sand Springs is expected to finish by November 2025, with two lanes open during peak hours, though Morrow Rd. is closed, and Wekiwa Rd. is narrowed to one lane at SH-97. The US-75 bridge project at 141st St. in Glenpool is expected to be completed by October 2025, with narrowed lanes, ramp closures, and a reduced speed limit, while maintaining two lanes of traffic during high traffic times. SH-66 at Bird Creek near Catoosa will be reduced to one lane in each direction for a bridge replacement project lasting until early 2026, as stated by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.
