Tulsa will host a prescription drug take-back event on October 25, giving residents a safe and free way to dispose of unwanted or expired medications. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at several locations across the city, with no questions asked, according to the City of Tulsa’s website.

The initiative aims to prevent accidental poisoning, overdose, and drug misuse while protecting the environment. Some sites will also accept sharps for disposal. City officials stress that proper disposal keeps medication compounds out of local waterways, which wastewater plants cannot filter out.

Drop-off locations include Reasor’s, Walgreens, and several Walmart Neighborhood Markets, such as the Walgreens on S. Elm Street in Jenks and the Elks Lodge on S. Harvard Avenue.

For those unable to attend, the Tulsa Police Division headquarters and Tulsa County Sheriff's Office provide year-round disposal services during weekday business hours. Residents can contact the Center for Rural Health at (918) 688-3813 for more information about the event.
