Windsor Square, a neighborhood often noted for its serenity and picturesque surroundings, became the scene of a tragic shooting late Thursday night, leaving two dead and one injured. Los Angeles Police Department officers, responding to multiple emergency calls around 11:45 p.m., arrived at a residence on the 200 block of North Ridgewood Place to discover the harrowing aftermath of the violence within, as reported by KTLA.
At the scene, law enforcement found two women and a man suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite their arrival and the efforts to save lives, a woman and the 39-year-old man were pronounced dead at the location. As per the update from FOXLA, it has been determined that the man's gunshot wounds were self-inflicted. The second woman, believed to be about 70 years old, was rushed to a hospital and is expected to pull through, despite her injuries.
While the web of evidence continues to be untangled, Lieutenant Sean Kinchla with the LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division emphasized that this appears to be an isolated incident. "We’re still in the early stages of the investigation, appears to be an isolated incident and no suspect or weapons are believed to be outstanding," Kinchla said in a statement obtained by FOXLA. A handgun was found within the home, which showed no signs of forced entry, adding to the complexities of the case.
The identities of the victims and the specifics of their relationships have not been disclosed at this time, and the motive behind the shooting remains a matter to be ascertained, as investigators dig deeper into the circumstances leading up to the event. Authorities have not yet ruled out a possible murder-suicide angle, but have stated that there is no ongoing threat to the community.
