The City of West Sacramento is calling on local residents to come forward and voice their opinions on the city's future. Through a series of feedback sessions, community members will have the opportunity to help shape the city's plan for public facilities and infrastructure over the next two decades. A mix of in-person and virtual meetings are set up to gather as much input as possible, ensuring a plan that reflects the needs and desires of the community at large.
According to the city's official website, during the sessions, participants will engage in discussions analyzing existing city facilities and services, and brainstorm on the future assets the city requires. In addition to sharing ideas, attendees will partake in a hands-on activity to pinpoint potential locations for new public infrastructure on a map. The city is placing a strong focus on accessibility, equity, and community priorities in these conversations, seeking to tap into the collective wisdom of West Sacramento citizens.
The first session is scheduled for Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at the West Sacramento Recreation Center with an accompanying virtual component. For those unable to join the midweek discussion, a second session will follow promptly on Thursday, October 9, at the West Sacramento Community Center. The city has thoughtfully provided free on-site childcare at the Recreation Center during the Wednesday session for young children.
For anyone unable to attend or those with more insights to share, the West Sacramento Facilities Survey is available online. This survey will remain open until October 15, offering an additional platform for feedback. Special accommodations for the meetings can be organized with the City Clerk's Office in advance, and city officials, such as Peter Ibrahim and Kate Vigneau, are on hand for any inquiries regarding these crucial sessions.
