
A man was fatally shot by a woman customer at a beauty supply store in Compton this Sunday. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is actively investigating the incident which took place around 3:21 p.m. at a store located on the 1300 block of Alondra Boulevard. NBC Los Angeles reports that the man, aged 42, caused "some destruction" inside Pink Beauty Supply leading up to the shooting.
The suspect, a woman in her 50s, fired her weapon during the event that left the man dead while employees and other customers were present in the store. Police stated the alleged shooter is cooperating with authorities and has surrendered her firearm. While several were inside the store, no other injuries have been reported, and as of now, no arrests have been made. The incident is being scrutinized closely with an unclear motive or relationship between the shooter and the victim.
According to a news release by the deputies, as obtained by CBS LA, the woman shot the man because he was "causing a disturbance." The identity of the victim has not been disclosed, and the officials pronounced him dead at the scene of the crime.
