New York City has seen multiple recent lottery wins. According to PIX11, a Brooklyn deli sold a $50,000 Powerball ticket, and a Bronx convenience store sold a $30,421 Take 5 ticket this week. These wins follow a $33,000 ticket sold in the Bronx over the weekend, a $1 million Mega Millions prize, and a $3 million scratch-off win by a Brooklyn resident earlier in September.
The manager of V & C Taneja, the Yonkers store that sold three million-dollar Powerball tickets, told NBC New York that the winners’ identities are unknown. Although the store does not receive a cash prize for the sales, they are encouraged by their role in the recent wins. With the Powerball jackpot estimated to reach $320 million for the next drawing.
Recent lottery wins in New York City have led to increased ticket sales across the state. The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million. The next Powerball drawing is scheduled for tonight, with the jackpot available for the next winner.
