
Last night, at approximately 9:19 PM, a serious collision occurred at 1900 Garnet Ave. in Pacific Beach, as per a press release emailed by the San Diego Police Department. A 35-year-old male pedestrian, who was reportedly walking against a red signal, was struck by a 21-year-old male motorcyclist driving a Suzuki 1500. The incident sent both individuals to the hospital with serious injuries.
The pedestrian, who was moving southbound at the time of the mishap, suffered critical injuries including a lacerated liver and a fractured femur along with other fractures, while the motorcyclist sustained multiple abrasions the details of which are not provided in the same level of graphic detail as the pedestrian’s injuries, Officer D. O'Brien served as the Watch Commander overseeing the response to the accident. According to the SDPD, they do not suspect D.U.I was a contributing factor in this collision.
SDPD's Traffic Division has taken over the investigation of the accident, which left the busy thoroughfare of Garnet Ave. partially cordoned off by first responders last night. Authorities are currently reaching out to the public for any witnesses to come forward with information that might shed light on the exact circumstances of the collision.
