This initiative, aimed at providing relief for water, sewer, trash services, and stormwater fees, has been a beacon of support for households facing financial hardship. As we edge closer to the holiday season, the fund presents an opportunity for neighbors to lift each other through the simple act of adding a donation to their monthly utility payments.
In a show of collective goodwill, the Arlington community has come together to contribute $79,267.68 to the Care and Share Fund since the beginning of the year, directly impacting the lives of 695 households, according to the Arlington Water Utilities. These numbers eclipse the previous year's total of $59,669.00, which assisted 473 households, illustrating a growing commitment to communal support. The Fund's endeavor is bolstered by Arlington’s residents, who generously donated $9,884.04 in Fiscal Year 2025, and additionally by Service Line Warranties of America's annual contribution of $60,000.
Beyond the Care and Share initiative, there's also the Partnerships for Arlington program, which has funneled a total of $55,345.45 towards various local causes thanks to the donations from 21,788 Water Utilities customers. According to the information provided by Arlington Water Utilities, the program has supported a diverse array of services with funds allocated as follows: $39,233.27 to Arlington Animal Services, $3,597.60 to the Arlington Public Library, $1,353.56 to Urban Forest, $751.43 to the Build-a-Dream Scholarship, and $526.55 to the Arlington Public Art Program.
