Arlington is gearing up to spread some holiday cheer with a slate of festive December events. The local parks and recreation department detailed a series of gatherings that range from movie nights to markets, and they've made sure there's something for every age to enjoy, according to the City of Arlington.
Up first on December 5, the Winter Wave Dive-In Movie Night aims to make a splash at the East Indoor Pool with a showing of "The Polar Express". The water's warm, and the ticket's affordable at $8 per person. Just remember to bring your floaties and your loved ones for some swimming and movie-watching fun.
On December 9, East Recreation Center invites those 50 and better to slip into their holiday pajamas for Pancakes & Pajamas—a gathering that promises pancakes, coffee, cocoa, and holiday crafts starting at 9 AM. A visit from Santa is also on the books with not one, but two events. Kids and families can enjoy "Cookies with the Clauses" on December 13 at the same location, or "Donuts with Santa" at The Beacon Recreation Center for a nominal $3 fee per child on the same day.
The Dottie Lynn Recreation Center transforms into a holiday shopping destination with the 26th Annual Olde Town Christmas Market set for December 6 from 9 AM – 3 PM. And, for adults 50 plus looking to kick up their heels, the ACTIV's Winter Wonderland Country Dance on December 16 offers an evening of dancing, music, and festivities at an admission of $15 per person. Whether it's for the market thrills or the dance floor chills, there’s a holiday event ready to match the seasonal spirit.
