In a recent bust, officers assigned to District D-4 (South End) swiftly responded to a series of shoplifting incidents, resulting in numerous summonses and an arrest, according to Boston Police Department reports. On Wednesday evening, the police were alerted to a larceny in progress at the Lululemon store located at 800 Boylston Street. Upon their arrival, they detained three male juveniles, accompanied by descriptions of them concealing store items.
While two suspects were nabbed without resistance, the third briefly eluded capture before Prudential Center Security pointed out his location, leading to his apprehension and the recovery of the purloined goods. The trio of juvenile suspects, having rankled the peace of commerce, were summoned with larceny under $1,200 and conspiracy charges, as administered by the Boston Juvenile Court. Within the same hour-span, and it seems the same Lululemon establishment bore witness to another attempted heist — this time perpetrated by two juvenile females. They also faced court summonses, spanning charges from larceny to conspiracy, and for one suspect, less destructive yet still malicious acts against property and theft prevention devices, as reported by the Boston Police Department.
The South End's retail patrol didn't end there; another incident unfurled a mere stone's throw away at The North Face store on Newbury Street. A detective, amidst a shoplifting sting operation, noticed Anthony Craan, a 43-year-old from Brooklyn, NY, nonchalantly slipping into a pair of slippers inside the premises and walking out as though the storefront was his closet. The altercation led to Craan's arrest, and he is set to face charges from larceny to furnishing false identification to law enforcement, in the halls of Boston Municipal Court.
