A fatal traffic collision in Wayne County claimed the life of a 100-year-old woman and left three others injured, officials say. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the two-vehicle crash that occurred around 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 23. Dolly Cromer, of Wadsworth, was a passenger in a Ford Ranger hit by another vehicle at the intersection of County Road 78 and County Road 6, as reported by FOX8. The Wayne County Sheriff's Office, along with Wooster Fire and EMS, and Central Fire District EMS, assisted at the scene of the accident.

According to WKYC, the driver of a red Chevrolet Colorado, identified as a 73-year-old Lodi woman, failed to adhere to a stop sign, which led to the collision with the southbound Ford Ranger. The initial assessment by troopers suggested that the injuries sustained by Cromer and another passenger were serious but non-life-threatening.

Troopers were informed the following day that Cromer had succumbed to her injuries. In addition to Cromer's untimely death, the condition of the driver of the Ford Ranger and the other passenger, a 41-year-old Creston woman, has yet to be publicized. There's been no official update on the status of the other driver involved in the crash. The ongoing investigation has not clarified whether charges will be filed.

Ashland Source provided details on the vehicles involved: a red 2026 Chevrolet Colorado operated by Karalee Butkovich, and a blue 2002 Ford Ranger driven by Pamela Cromer, who, together with Charity Cromer and the centenarian Dolly Cromer, was in the vehicle at the time of the crash. This tragic event cuts through the village of Wadsworth, threading a narrative of grief and sudden loss into the fabric of its community.
