As of their latest update this morning at 6:52 am EST, Charlotte residents can expect to see patchy fog lifting before 9 am today, to be followed by mostly sunny skies, and a comfortable high near 74 degrees.
Tonight's forecast includes a 60% chance of showers, primarily before 3 am, with the possibility of patchy fog redeveloping after 1 am. The temperature is slated to drop to around 58 degrees, with light winds turning southwest after midnight, according to NWS information. Moving into Sunday, the fog is expected to clear up again before 9 am, with mostly cloudy conditions giving way to sun and highs matching today's 74 degrees, and wind gusts that could reach as high as 25 mph.
The forecast for Sunday night through Veterans Day indicates a shift, with partly cloudy skies on Sunday night and a low around 38 degrees. Monday looks to be sunny but cooler with a high near 47, and Veterans Day is projected to remain sunny with temperatures in the upper 40s.
In addition to the standard forecast, a Hazardous Weather Outlook has been issued by the National Weather Service for the following week. The advisory puts emphasis on freezing temperatures expected by Monday night, which, "In many places this could amount to a hard freeze and end the growing season," for residents across northeast Georgia, Piedmont North Carolina, western North Carolina, and Upstate South Carolina. As noted in the Outlook, no immediate hazardous weather conditions are expected today or tonight, but conditions are subject to change as the week progresses.
