Following an intensive investigation, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) has apprehended a suspect in a recent homicide case. Tracoby Meeks, age 20, has been identified as the individual connected to a fatal incident in the North Tryon Division. Yesterday, November 19, CMPD detectives were able to successfully obtain a warrant for Meeks' arrest, and with the aid of the CMPD’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VACT), Meeks was located and detained earlier today, as per information released by the CMPD's Public Affairs Office.
Upon arrest, Meeks was taken to the Law Enforcement Center (LEC) where he was subjected to questioning by homicide detectives. This line of inquiry led to Meeks being subsequently transported to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office. According to the CMPD's official statement, Meeks faces serious charges, which include murder and felony conspiracy. In line with procedural protocol, the victim's family has been notified of these developments.
